This Poster was an submission piece for The Real Show 2023 Design Competition of George Mason University, School Of Art.
This poster covered the theatrical poster design competition. Where design students were expected to create an illustrative poster, for the musical " Where The Whangdoodle Sings ". The requirements involved the included copy text, logo, and finding an interesting way of capturing the performance through the poster.
This poster features the title character, the Whangdoodle. An mysterious half bird half man creature, thats on the verge of being erased. Given the heavy themes and dark nature of the musical upon research. I followed an mysterious format, where i'd design the Whangdoodle's leg and nothing more. Making the viewer curious of what exactly the foot is connected too, and wanting to know more.
The Leg was made in analogue before being recreated in illustrator using an brush tool. Following this text, is an collection of sketches before the end result of the project.
